If you have marionette lines, nasolabial folds, sagging cheeks, jowl and neck, and don’t want to go under the knife, then Ultherapy® is what you need. Ultherapy® is the FDA approved ultrasound treatment for skin lifting and firming from Ulthera Inc. Ultherapy® is the only non-invasive procedure that targets the SMAS layer of the skin, a non-surgical SMAS Lift. This is the layer which surgeons tighten during a surgical-facelift or threadlift of the mid to lower face. With a built-in ultrasound scan, Ultherapy® can accurately locate the SMAS and deliver a very precise dose of energy to it, and start stimulating your collagen production.

ThermiVA™ Vaginal Rejuvenation

by Dr. Stewart Wang

Anti-aging is no longer just for the face! ThermiVA™ is the non-surgical procedure that will help you look and feel 20 years younger down there in 30 minutes!

IV therapy has long been a rejuvenating go-to for celebrities worldwide, and now skin-brightening IV is very much in vogue! It’s about lightening your skin from the inside, with the active ingredients injected into your bloodstream via an IV drip. Vitamins, minerals and antioxidants fed directly into the bloodstream are absorbed much more effective than taken orally via gastrointestinal absorption.

At our Southern California plastic surgery offices, laser treatments are designed to remove unwanted hair from any skin type, to remove veins on the face and legs, to reduce age spot, sunspots and pore size, to reduce blemishes, fine lines and wrinkles, and to improve skin tone and texture.

Chemical Peel Skin Renewal

by Dr. Stewart Wang

Chemical peels are a non-invasive way to restore wrinkled, blemished, unevenly pigmented, or sun-damaged facial skin using a chemical solution to peel away the skin's top layers. The new cells that form during the healing process produce smoother, tighter, younger looking skin. Chemical peels can be used on the full face or on specific regions, such as the forehead or the area around the mouth.

Thermage Skin Rejunvenation

by Dr. Stewart Wang

Thermage facial treatments target fine lines and wrinkles, smoothing surface skin while tightening and renewing your skin's collagen. Eyes by Thermage™, a targeted procedure popular with many of Dr. Wang's patients, smoothes and tightens upper eyelids and the skin around the eye, making eyes appear more rested without surgery or injections. In addition, Dr. Wang now offers Body by Thermage™ and Hands by Thermage™ treatments, two other FDA-approved procedures for his Southern California patients.

Dermabrasion is a highly sophisticated, controlled scraping of the facial skin that is used to smooth fine wrinkles, especially around the mouth, and scars left by acne or previous non-aesthetic surgery. It softens the sharp edges of irregularities in the outermost layer of skin so that they become less apparent and blend with other facial tissues for smoother-looking skin. Dermabrasion is also used to remove precancerous lesions that result from too much exposure to the sun.

Physician Strength Skincare

by Dr. Stewart Wang

Wang Plastic Surgery offers several lines of skin care products to help our patients maintain their fresh looks and protect their skin from environmental and sun damage. Dr. Wang and his experienced staff will evaluate your face, address your concerns, and formulate a personalized regimen based on your skin type and problem areas. Each product has been hand-selected for effectiveness and continued patient satisfaction.

Scar Revision Treatments

by Dr. Stewart Wang

Scar revision minimizes and improves the appearance of unsightly keloids, facial and hypertrophic scars. It can also relieve the discomfort of contractures, caused by burns or other injuries, which can restrict movement of muscles and tendons.

While scars cannot be completely removed, Dr. Wang can improve their appearance and make them less obvious. Many factors affect the severity of scarring, such as the size and depth of the wound, the blood supply to the area, the thickness and color of your skin, as well as the direction of the scar. So, if you are considering scar removal it is important to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon who will help you determine the procedure that is best for you.

Latisse® Lash Enhancer

by Dr. Stewart Wang

Have you ever wondered if there was a more permanent alternative to heavily-caked-on mascara, expensive eyelash extensions, and sticky, uncomfortable false eyelashes? Well wonder no more; there is now a new FDA-approved eyelash growth treatment called LATISSE® (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution) 0.03%, which through regular use can give you more beautiful lashes from the inside out.

Latisse is available at Wang Plastic Surgery in Pasadena and Upland, serving the Greater Los Angeles and Inland Empire areas.

ThermiTight™ Skin Tightening

by Stewart P. Wang

Whether it's the skin on your face, chin, breast, stomach, arms or thighs, life experiences like weight change, pregnancy, lifestyle change, sun damage, and simply aging are causing our skin to wrinkle, sag and lose its elasticity. FAT BURNING INJECTABLES

by Stewart P. Wang

Kybella™ is an injectable treatment for submental fullness (double chin) now available at Wang Plastic Surgery in Pasadena and Upland. Kybella™ is FDA approved non-invasive way to reduce your double chin without surgery and with no downtime. Unlike other injectable treatments, such as dermal fillers or Botox, the results from Kybella™ are permanent.

Non-invasive Body Contour

by Stewart P. Wang

Although liposuction very effectively removes body fat, many people want a way to get rid of unwanted fat without surgery. Dr. Wang is pleased to offer his Riverside and Pasadena body contouring patients an advanced fat reduction technology: SculpSure™ laser therapy. SculpSure™ is a completely non-invasive treatment that uses controlled hyperthermic, or temperature injury, to fat cells. Heating the fat cells to target temperatures, causes injury; then, the body’s immune system steps in to clear the body of those cells, and the treated area shrinks.

Dermal fillers address the depletion of collagen and subcutaneous (under the skin) fat that occurs as we age, and also can be used to restore skin harmed by sun exposure, scarring, disease, or other trauma. Not everyone's skin is the same, so we offer a range of options to improve the appearance of wrinkles, restore volume in the lips or cheeks, and fill hollows and deep lines. Dermal fillers offer immediate results with no recovery time.

Depending on your treatment area(s), these products can be used alone or in combination.

Xeomin® (incobotulinumtoxinA), is a FDA Approved drug, effective in treating the glabellar lines, or the 11 between your eyes. Xeomin works similarly to Botox and Dysport, which relaxes the underlying nerves to smooth out the facial expression lines caused by muscle contraction. Xeomin is injected into the muscles that cause these lines and wrinkles, disabling them and reducing their further deepening. In conjunction with Restylane® injections, JUVÉDERM®, chemical peels, and/or a forehead lift or face lift, complete facial rejuvenation is possible.

Because of Dr. Wang's unsurpassed commitment to patient care, he conducts all Xeomin consultations personally and administers the injections himself, unlike many other practices that rely on their nursing staff to provide Xeomin treatments and consultations. If you are considering Xeomin or any of the other treatments available through Wang Plastic Surgery, take a moment to read how former patients are expressing their appreciation for Dr. Wang's knowledge and care throughout the facial rejuvenation process.

Now is a great time to schedule a Xeomin consultation with Dr. Wang at our plastic surgery offices, serving Southern California including Pasadena, Rancho Cucamonga, Glendora, Chino Hills, Arcadia and Riverside. You can request a consultation online or call Wang Plastic Surgery at (888) 360-6688 today to schedule your appointment.

What’s the difference between Xeomin®, Botox®, and Dysport®?

Xeomin, Botox, and Dysport all have the same active ingredients, Botulinum neurotoxin. The only difference in Xeomin is that it does not carry the proteins that are typical of the other products, and that it does not require refrigeration for storage.

What are the common benefits of Xeomin?

Xeomin removes wrinkles produced by facial movement, resulting in a younger looking appearance. Xeomin is especially effective for treating crow's feet, forehead wrinkles, bunny lines on the nose, and down turned corners of the mouth.

Since Xeomin does not contain protein, it claims that its advantage lies in the lessened likelihood of antibodies being formed to the proteins which – for a very limited number of patients – can render the product ineffective. (This typically is only seen in patients who have used botulinum toxin for an extended period of time.)

How are Xeomin injections performed?

Xeomin treatments do not usually require anesthesia, however the skin can be treated with a topical numbing agent and you may be given a sedative if desired. During the procedure, Dr. Wang will use very thin needles to inject very small amounts of Xeomin into the affected areas of the face or area of the body to be treated.

How long do Xeomin treatments take?

Xeomin treatments may take from 10 to 20 minutes, depending on the number of injections required.

What can I expect after my Xeomin treatment?

You may experience mild bruising and swelling at the site of the injections, as well as a brief headache. You will be asked to keep your head upright and avoid rubbing the treated area. Within three to five days you will see results, but some areas may take as much as two weeks. Results of each treatment last from four to six months.

How long before I can return to normal activity?

You should be able to return to work or home immediately.

The information about Xeomin ® is provided for Pasadena and Inland Empire residents considering cosmetic surgery courtesy of Dr. Stewart Wang, board-certified plastic surgeon. More information can be found in Dr. Wang's featured article "Move Over BOTOX®, XEOMIN® is a New Kid in Town" published on Around Alhambra.

Facial wrinkles always seem to appear before we are ready for them. Fortunately, Wang Plastic Surgery offers a variety of modern, non-surgical wrinkle treatments that can help you restore or maintain a youthful-looking face. DYSPORT is the first FDA-approved alternative to the highly popular injectable wrinkle treatment BOTOX® Cosmetic. Both products treat "dynamic wrinkles," which is another name for wrinkles caused by the contractions of facial muscles, such as forehead furrows, frown lines, and crow's feet. Dr. Wang is pleased to offer DYSPORT to his patients in Pasadena and the Inland Empire.

Unlike dermal fillers that correct wrinkles by restoring lost volume, DYSPORT temporarily relaxes the facial muscles that actually cause the wrinkles. It also can temporarily keep the wrinkles from progressing and prevent future wrinkles in the treated areas. Combining DYSPORT with a dermal filler like Radiesse®, chemical peels, and/or a facial cosmetic surgery procedure like a forehead lift, can give you an even more impressive facial rejuvenation.

Dr. Wang makes patient care a priority; therefore, he conducts all DYSPORT consultations and treatments himself. He has an in-depth understanding of the relationship between facial muscles and expressions, so you can feel confident that your DYSPORT treatments will be performed with extreme precision and care and that your enhancements will be natural looking.

If you're interested in learning more about DYSPORT, schedule your consultation with Dr. Wang at our plastic surgery offices, serving all of Southern California including Pasadena, Arcadia, and Riverside. You can request a consultation online or call Wang Plastic Surgery at (888) 360-6688 today to schedule your appointment.

What makes DYSPORT different from BOTOX Cosmetic?

These two products are made from botulinum toxin type A and work on the same principal of correcting wrinkles by suspending facial muscle movement. However, they offer some differences. DYSPORT has been found to:

  • Take effect earlier, within 1 to 2 days after treatment, as opposed to 3 to 5 days for BOTOX Cosmetic.
  • Result in improvements that spread farther from the injection site. While this property limits precision, it can be beneficial when treating larger areas.
  • Create results that last longer for some patients.

How are DYSPORT injections performed?

Although DYSPORT treatments are virtually painless, some patients prefer to take advantage of a topical anesthetic, and possibly a sedative, to ensure their comfort and reduce anxiety. Using a fine needle, Dr. Wang injects very small amounts of DYSPORT into specific areas of the muscles that are associated with the targeted wrinkles. These quick, simple treatments take only about 20 to 30 minutes to perform, depending on the size and number of treatment areas. There is no associated downtime, so you can resume your normal activities right after treatment.

Will my expressions look frozen or "plastic"?

Dr. Wang has extensive experience performing injectable wrinkle treatments. He will use extreme care and precision when injecting DYSPORT to ensure that the targeted wrinkles will smooth out while preserving your ability to make natural expressions.

You've had a lot to smile about over the years, and the lines on your face show it. Now Pasadena and Inland Empire residents have new reason to smile-those "smile lines" or "parentheses" (wrinkles running from the side of your nose to the corners of your mouth) can be smoothed away successfully using JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel to restore your skin's natural volume.

Better still, JUVÉDERM also can be used to smooth lines on the forehead, around the eyes, or around the lips. Injectable fillers like JUVÉDERM have proven to be effective and much less invasive than surgical skin smoothing options. You will see immediate improvement in areas treated with JUVÉDERM, with most patients needing only one treatment to achieve optimal wrinkle reduction, and results lasting up to a year.

Over time, you have no doubt noticed that the natural volume of youthful skin begins to diminish as wrinkles and creases form-but effective treatment doesn't just involve treating the skin directly. Instead, JUVÉDERM addresses the loss of tissue volume beneath the skin to help rebuild your skin's foundation, thereby removing and reducing the creases in your skin.

Now is the perfect time to schedule a JUVÉDERM consultation with Dr. Wang at our Pasadena, and Upland plastic surgery offices, serving Southern California including Pasadena and the Inland Empire. To understand your treatment options, request a consultation online or call Wang Plastic Surgery at (888) 360-6688 today to schedule your appointment.

Since there are so many options for non-surgical facial procedures, including BOTOX® Cosmetic, Restylane®, and collagen, and given Dr. Wang's considerable expertise with the best innovations for non-invasive facial treatments, it is important that you discuss all of your goals and desires for facial rejuvenation during your consultation. Dr. Wang will be able to determine the best treatment and treatment combinations to achieve your goals with the superior results his patients have come to expect.

What are the common benefits of JUVÉDERM treatments?

JUVÉDERM offers several unique benefits compared to other physician-administered wrinkle treatment options. As a smooth consistency gel, it flows easily into the skin, offering an even, natural look and feel. In addition, each of the specialized ingredients in JUVÉDERM is hypoallergenic. As a result, no allergy skin tests are needed prior to receiving treatment. Also, JUVÉDERM is the first FDA-approved hyaluronic acid filler that has been proven safe and effective for persons of color. Available in two formulations, JUVÉDERM can be used as part of an individualized plan to target your goals for wrinkle treatment and correction.

How are JUVÉDERM wrinkle treatments performed?

JUVÉDERM injectable gel is added under your skin to augment or fill wrinkles and folds. Following the injection, Dr. Wang will gently massage each treated area to ensure that the gel is applied uniformly.

How long do JUVÉDERM treatments take?

You can choose to have this quick and easy procedure performed at our convenient Pasadena or Inland Empire area plastic surgery offices. The injection itself usually takes about 15 minutes. Total treatment time will depend on the extent and area of treatment.

What can I expect after JUVÉDERM wrinkle treatment?

As with most injectable fillers, your recovery time will be minimal. During the day following treatment, you should avoid strenuous exercise, excessive sun or heat exposure, and consumption of alcoholic beverages in order to help minimize the risks of temporary redness, swelling, or other discomfort at the treatment sites.

What is JUVÉDERM composed of?

JUVÉDERM Injectable Gel is a "next-generation" skin filler made from hyaluronic acid-a naturally-occurring substance that hydrates skin and replenishes its natural volume. JUVÉDERM is formulated using an exclusive manufacturing process to provide the highest concentration of cross-linked hyaluronic acid of any currently available hyaluronic acid filler and provide long-lasting results.

Facial contours give us a youthful, healthy appearance, and the structures that create beautiful contours allow our skin to lay smooth and taut eliminating skin folds and deep wrinkles. As we age, our natural contours diminish causing our faces to look gaunt and causing nasal labial folds and marionette lines. These facial structures need special treatments like injectable fillers to replenish and plump the tissues beneath the skin. Radiesse® is an injectable form of very tiny, smooth calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres that encourages natural collagen production, which sustains the affect of the treatment for up to two years. Radiesse® injections are even more effective when they are combined with other treatments like BOTOX® Cosmetic, Restylane®, and collagen injections.

Video: Your Guide to Radiesse For our Southern California patients, Radiesse® is used to augment cheeks, cheek bones, the chin and jaw line, as well as nasal-labial folds and marionette lines. Radiesse® is also excellent for augmenting bumpy noses without undergoing major Rhinoplasty surgery. Radiesse® treatments can last up to 2 years. For a complete facial rejuvenation, collagen treatments can reduce finer lines and wrinkles and plump lips, and BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments can enhance the brow line and forehead.

Now is a great time to schedule a Radiesse® consultation with Dr. Wang at our plastic surgery offices, serving Southern California including Pasadena, Arcadia and Upland. To understand your treatment options, request a consultation online or call our office at (888) 360-6688 today.

Since there are so many options for non-surgical facial procedures, and with Dr.

What are the common benefits of Radiesse® treatments?

Radiesse® injections can be used to reduce nasal labial folds and marionette lines by adding volume to the tissues beneath the skin. Radiesse® injections are beneficial for facial contouring of the cheek bones, cheeks, chin and jaw line. Radiesse® can also be used to enhance the nose by reducing bumps, straightening slight curves, and augmenting the tip offering what is essentially a non-surgical Rhinoplasty procedure.

How are Radiesse® treatments performed?

At our plastic surgery offices, serving Southern California including Pasadena, Arcadia and the Inland Empire, Dr. Wang uses either a topical or injected local anesthesia depending on the treatment area. Using very thin needles, Radiesse® is injected directly into the treatment area.

How long do Radiesse® treatments take?

Treatment time depends on the extent and area of treatment. Generally, treatment takes less than one hour at our plastic surgery offices.

What can I expect after Radiesse® treatment?

You may experience some swelling and redness at the injection sight. This will subside within 24 hours. Many of our patients have no side effects and can return to their daily activities immediately.

What is Radiesse® composed of?

Radiesse® is composed of synthetic calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in a gel carrier.

CaHA is a biomaterial with over twenty years of use in orthopedics, neurosurgery, dentistry, and ophthalmology, and is the primary mineral constituent of bone and teeth. The semi-solid nature of Radiesse® is created by suspending CaHA in a common water based carrier, also used in a large array of products.

Finally, an injectable treatment that offers long-lasting results! Wang Plastic Surgery is proud to offer Sculptra for people in Pasadena and the Inland Empire. This dermal filler can lessen the appearance of aging for up to 2 years.

Sculptra works deep within the dermis to replace lost collagen in the skin and correct the look of facial folds and wrinkles around the nose, mouth, and chin. This innovative new treatment gradually restores the skin's youthful suppleness so that you see subtle improvements develop over time. For this reason, Sculptra is ideal for people who prefer more natural results.

If you're ready to see those lines and wrinkles around your mouth gently fade away, then contact Dr. Wang for a consultation. You can request a consultation online or call Wang Plastic Surgery at (888) 360-6688 today to schedule your appointment.

What are the common benefits of Sculptra?

Sculptra can help bring back the skin's youthful "bounce" by adding volume to areas of the face that have lost collagen. With each treatment, the look of facial folds and wrinkles around the mouth and cheeks slowly diminishes as the skin regains its fullness. Sculptra produces noticeable results over time and helps to refine the facial contours for an overall more lifted and refreshed look. The long-lasting effects of Sculptra can be seen for up to 2 years.

How are Sculptra injections performed?

Each Sculptra session is tailored to a patient's individual skin concerns in order to ensure optimal results. Typically, a series of 3 injections over the course of a few months is recommended so that each subsequent session helps to reinforce the skin's new structure. Depending on the degree of correction needed, the treatment area may be numbed with a topical anesthetic prior to treatment to minimize any discomfort.

How long do Sculptra treatments take?

Sculptra treatments can generally take between 20 to 30 minutes, depending on the number of injections required.

What can I expect after my Sculptra treatment?

We take precautionary measures to avoid any adverse side effects after treatment. However, some people might experience minor pain, redness, bruising, bleeding, itching, or swelling at the injection site. Small bumps under the skin may slowly develop near the treated area, which can disappear on their own. Results typically appear slowly over the course of several weeks and last up to 2 years.

How long before I can return to normal activity?

There is no downtime associated with Sculptra. You should be able to resume your daily routine immediately.

Many people throughout Southern California come to Wang Plastic Surgery for non-surgical facial rejuvenation treatments in addition to Sculptra Aesthetic, including BOTOX® Cosmetic, LATISSE® eyelash growth solution, and Thermage® for skin tightening.

If you're like most women, you have a few old bottles of anti-cellulite cream collecting dust in the medicine cabinet or under the bathroom sink. The promises just don't pan out, and meanwhile your only real option is to hide the areas of your body where cellulite forms, such as hips, thighs, and buttocks. Aren't you tired of being self conscious about these areas in intimate settings? A new laser device called TriActive is now available to restore your skin's balance and provide a healthier appearance.

TriActive reduces the appearance of cellulite by combining mechanical massage to increase circulation, localized cooling to reduce inflammation and low energy laser to promote lymphatic drainage. Several clinical tests have shown that TriActive is effective: one study reported that individuals treated with TriActive lost 40% of their cellulite after only eight treatment sessions, while another reported that 83% of treated individuals saw improved cellulite appearance. Originally developed in Italy, TriActive received FDA approval for cellulite reduction in April 2005, though it has been used worldwide since 2002.

Now is the time to learn more about this affordable laser-based treatment for non-invasive body-sculpting. Call (888) 360-6688 or request a consultation online to schedule your personal consultation with plastic surgeon Dr. Wang at any of our two plastic surgery offices: the Upland office near Ontario and Rancho Cucamonga in the Inland Empire or our new Pasadena office.

What are the common benefits of TriActive cellulite reduction?

TriActive is an effective cellulite treatment for smoothing of many areas of the body, such as thighs, buttocks, love handles, stomach and upper arms, as well as areas of the face where cellulite may form, such as on the neck or under the chin. Also, TriActive can be combined with many other surgical treatments, including tummy tuck, breast reduction, or liposuction, where TriActive can help reduce fluid retention and slackening of the skin.

How is TriActive cellulite treatment performed?

Unlike treatments and creams applied to the skin surface, TriActive targets cellulite from the inside, changing the structure of fat cells. It works by employing three distinct treatments:

  • Mechanical Massage-Enhances blood flow and softens connective tissues to encourage dispersal of existing cellulite
  • Localized Cooling-Shrinks fat cells and prepares the skin at the treatment site so the laser can penetrate deeply without harming the top layer of skin
  • Deep Laser Stimulation and Suction-Melts cellulite while encouraging drainage of lymph vessels and reducing the appearance of dimpling

How long does TriActive cellulite reduction take?

Each treatment lasts about 20 minutes, and patients generally need six to 16 treatments over a one to three month period to achieve their desired results. Once you've attained the skin appearance you want, only one treatment a month is needed to maintain your new look.

What can I expect after TriActive cellulite treatment?

Your results will depend on several factors, including the severity of skin dimpling, the amount of skin being treated, whether TriActive is combined with another procedure, diet and exercise, your age and general health, and the number of treatments you choose to have performed. In general, you should expect markedly improved skin appearance.

What is the recovery period like?

The procedure is not painful and is as strenuous as a traditional massage. Most women actually feel more relaxed after the treatment than they did when entering the office.

How long before I can return to normal activity?

Patients can continue on with their normal daily activities immediately after leaving the office.
