Is Morpheus8® Treatment Painful? How’s the Morpheus8® Treatment Process?

Pain sensation and tolerance varies widely between individuals and depends on which part of the body is undergoing treatment. At Wang Plastic Surgery, we make our patients’ comfort during each procedure a priority. For non-invasive and minimal-invasive procedures, in conjunction with topical numbing cream, we can offer oral anesthesia medication or Pro-Nox™ (nitrous oxide) with advance request. Local anesthesia may be required when treating looser skin that requires deeper penetration.

After the topical numbing cream has desensitized the skin, we begin treatment using a small handheld applicator. The tip of the applicator has several micropins that are powered with radiofrequency via the Morpheus8® device platform. Our clinician will place the applicator against your skin for a few seconds while energy is inserted through the micropins. The applicator is then removed from the surface and placed onto the adjacent area in a stamping motion rather than a gliding motion. Depending on the size of the treatment area, the procedure generally takes from 15 to 60 minutes.

How Many Morpheus8® Treatments Will I need?

Morpheus8 begins to stimulate change immediately after the first treatment. Depending on the extent of improvement a patient desires, a series of 2 to 4 treatments may be considered.
