Ultrasound Guided Aesthetics
Ultrasound-Guided Aesthetics for Enhanced Safety and Precision

At Wang Plastic Surgery & Med Spa, Dr. Stewart Wang continually adopts advanced technology that supports greater safety, precision, and informed treatment planning. Ultrasound-Guided Aesthetics allows him to visualize certain structures beneath the skin in real time, providing an additional layer of anatomical information during selected cosmetic injections, filler correction treatments, and surgical evaluations for patients in Pasadena, Glendora, Upland, Santa Ana, and surrounding Southern California communities.

Over the years, I have cared for many patients who came to me after experiencing complications, unsatisfactory results, or the need for further correction following filler injections or breast procedures performed elsewhere. This includes patients seeking breast implant removal or revision surgery. These cases continually reinforce the importance of anatomical knowledge, precision, and careful evaluation. Ultrasound gives us another level of real-time insight that can help guide safer, more accurate treatment decisions and surgical planning

Ultrasound-Guided Injections

Dermal filler injections require a detailed understanding of facial anatomy, particularly in higher-risk areas such as the glabella, nose, forehead, temples, and under-eye region.

For selected patients and treatment areas, Dr. Wang and team may use high-resolution ultrasound to help identify superficial blood vessels, evaluate tissue depth, and guide needle placement in real time. These ultrasound-guided injections provide greater visibility beneath the skin and support a more precise, anatomy-based approach to treatment for patients seeking advanced aesthetic care in Pasadena, Glendora, Upland, and Santa Ana.

Although ultrasound cannot eliminate all injection risks, it offers valuable information that may help reduce the risk of unintended vascular injection and improve the accuracy of filler placement.

Ultrasound-Guided Filler Evaluation and Correction

Dr. Wang also helps patients who experience unsatisfactory results or complications from filler injections performed by other providers. Concerns may include lumps, asymmetry, filler migration, excessive volume, persistent swelling, or uncertainty about where the filler was placed.

Ultrasound may help identify the location, depth, and distribution of previously injected hyaluronic acid filler. When appropriate, Dr. Wang can use ultrasound-guided injections to direct Hylenex® more precisely toward the filler being dissolved while limiting unnecessary treatment of surrounding areas.

Not all fillers can be dissolved with hyaluronidase, so an in-person evaluation is required before treatment. Patients from Pasadena, Glendora, Upland, Santa Ana, and nearby areas often seek Dr. Wang’s expertise for complex filler correction cases.

Ultrasound-Assisted Breast Implant Assessment

Ultrasound Guided Breast Implant Removal

High-resolution mobile ultrasound may also be used during selected breast implant consultations to evaluate superficial portions of the implant shell and surrounding tissues. It may help assess palpable irregularities, superficial fluid collections, masses, or other areas of concern.

These findings may provide additional information when planning breast implant removal or revision surgery. However, in-office ultrasound does not replace formal breast imaging, mammography, MRI, biopsy, or evaluation by a breast specialist when further diagnostic testing is medically indicated.

Advanced Technology Guided by Experience

Ultrasound-Guided Aesthetics is an additional clinical tool and does not replace medical judgment, anatomical expertise, or careful injection technique.

As a Double Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with more than three decades of experience, Dr. Wang combines real-time ultrasound imaging with individualized assessment to make more informed and precise treatment decisions for patients throughout Pasadena, Glendora, Upland, Santa Ana, and the greater Los Angeles and Orange County areas.

The addition of ultrasound-guided injections and point-of-care imaging reflects Dr. Wang’s continued commitment to patient safety, aesthetic treatment precision, and responsible care.
